Day 1
Medieval Mysteries and Modern Bites
You arrive in the historic city of Bergen, excited to begin your journey. After meeting your fellow travelers and the tour director, we set off for a walking tour through Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We start at Bryggens Museum, where you marvel at the medieval artifacts and history. St. Mary’s Church and medieval ruins catch your attention before we weave through Bryggen’s wooden houses. So colorful! At the end of the day, we gather at Schøtstuene to learn about the Hanseatic merchants. You end the evening with dinner, tasting Bergen’s traditional dishes like Fish Soup or Persetorsk, and feel the warm welcome of the city.

Day 2
Fjord Dreams: A Cruise to Balestrand
Today we embark on a breathtaking fjord cruise, gliding through peaceful waters surrounded by towering mountains. You feel a sense of calm as the boat slices through the picturesque landscape. 360 degrees of beauty and tranquility surround us. We reach Balestrand, a quaint village known for its dragon-style architecture and stunning views. The Kviknes Hotel, a historic gem built in 1752, welcomes us with its old-world charm. The owners are there! As we settle in, you admire the hotel’s mix of history and modern comforts, and you’re eager to explore this magical part of Norway.

Day 3
Speed, Cider, and Coastal Magic
The day kicks off with a fast boat ride along the fjords around Balestrand. You feel the wind in your hair and take in the local sights and the aromas of nature. We stop at a charming cider farm, nestled along the Sognefjord. You sip cider, meet farm animals, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The return trip is slower, giving us time to admire the dragon-style villas along the shore. It all looks like a beautiful movie unfolding in front of us. As the day winds down, you reflect on the beauty and history of this unique village. Stories and laughter are shared by all.

Day 4
The Unforgettable Railway to Oslo
After another hearty breakfast, we sail from Balestrand to Flåm, along the fjord. Then, the journey takes a thrilling turn aboard the Flåm Railway. It is steep and it is gorgeous. A marvel of engineering and one of nature as well. You’re in awe as the train winds through valleys, past waterfalls, and up into the rugged mountains. We transfer to the Bergen Railway at Myrdal and continue to Oslo. Later we arrive in Norway’s vibrant capital, excited to explore its cultural offerings. As you settle into your hotel, the energy of the city can be felt, and you’re ready for the discoveries that lie ahead. Somehow, Norway feels like home, now.

Oslo’s Double Life: Nature & Culture
Today, we take a pleasant ferry ride to Bygdøy, an island where you can explore museums like the Norwegian Folk Museum or the excellent Kon-Tiki and Fram museums. Small gems with a big stories to tell. The sun shines as you wander the peninsula, steeped in local history. For a change of pace, we head to Holmenkollen, where a forest walk reveals sweeping views of Oslo. With all this green around us it becomes hard to remember that we are in an European capital. The day wraps up with dinner, where everyone shares stories of their day, and you feel connected to both the city and your group.

Locks, Lunch, Lakeside Luxury
We board a train to Sweden and arrive in Trollhättan, a Swedish town with scenic locks connecting the Göta River to Lake Vänern. After exploring the locks, we continue to Bohuslän for a memorable seafood lunch featuring blue mussels. You watch the chef’s demonstration, admiring the freshness of the ingredients straight from the sea. So authentic and so entertaining! Arriving at our seaside hotel, you feel the coastal charm of Bohuslän, a beloved summer retreat for Swedes. You relax by the water, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Kayak, Swim, or Stroll into Sweden’s Soul
You wake up excited for a day of adventure. Some of us head out for kayaking, gliding silently across the calm waters as birds fly overhead. Others opt for a picturesque walk on Skaftö island, wandering through quaint hamlets and pausing for a swim. Yes, a swim! A few explore Lysekil, an old sea resort full of history and charm. Very local kind of thing. After a day filled with fresh air and beautiful landscapes, we return to the hotel for a quiet evening by the sea. Happiness is in the air. Sweden is wonderful.

City to Vine: A Swedish Wine Surprise
We bid farewell to the coast and head to Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city. A guided tour reveals the city’s blend of history and innovation from the market hall to the leafy Avenue. It feels like being in the past and the future… at the same time. Later, we visit a serene vineyard in Skåne where we taste organic wines among the vines. You savor the sparkling Solaris, the vineyard’s pride, while learning about sustainable winemaking. As we reach Helsingborg, you feel (very) relaxed and inspired by the day’s discoveries.

Helsingborg: Pedal, Castle or Art
In Helsingborg the day is yours to choose, once again. One option is to join a walking tour to Kärnan, an old fortress with panoramic views of the city. You can also hop on a bike to explore the seaside. For those with a passion for modern art, cross over to Denmark and visit Louisiana’s famous art museum. No matter your choice, you soak in the cultural and natural beauty of the region before we gather for another shared meal. What a great day!

We explore the Kullabygden peninsula, with its quaint fishing villages and sweeping coastal views. After landing at Keflavík Airport, you will travel to your hotel in Reykjavík. Located in the heart of Iceland’s capital city, Hotel Borg offers the best in both style and comfort. Following check-in, connect with your Tour Director before a visit to the Sky Lagoon. Relax in the warm waters of the geothermal lagoon and soak off your jet lag as your gaze upon incredible views of the North Atlantic. End your day with a gourmet kickoff dinner where you will get to know your fellow travelers and taste delicious Icelandic dishes. Your group tour of Iceland has officially started!
After breakfast, join a driving tour of Iceland’s capital. Notable sights include the famous Hallgrímskirkja Church, Harpa Concert Hall and the unique Sun Voyager sculpture. Following your tour, you will have free time to experience the city on your own. End your day with a delectable dinner and a drive to view the Northern Lights, if the skies are clear that night. If they are not, don’t worry. We will have many other opportunities!
Day 3 is dedicated to Iceland’s Golden Circle, which is made up of three must-see sights: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park. Nearby, at Fridheimar, you will enjoy a beautiful show with Icelanic horses and some organic, tomato-based delicacies as well. Following your guided tour of the Golden Circle, we will drive to Landeyjahöfn harbor and board a ferry to the Westman Islands. The short 45-minute boat ride will give you a new perspective of Iceland’s south coast. When the ferry docks on the main island, Heimaey, you might even spot a brave sheep grazing on the rocky cliffs surrounding you! Enjoy a delectable dinner at Hotel Vestmannaeyjar, your cozy accommodation for the evening.
