Our “Stories” tour series™ presents each Scandinavian destination like a book of endless, fascinating stories. In these books, unlike all other books, the stories are written and rewritten, endlessly. The writer – you – merges their own journey with the country’s traditions and way of life, line by line, experience by experience. Each region is a chapter and each chapter is full of discovery and enrichment. Marvel at the scenery, savor the local cuisine, meet the locals and hear their stories.
In Stories of Norway™, summer edition, you will be immersed in 10 days of fjords, mountains, waterfalls, culture, food and beauty that defines Norway. You will travel in the company of a local Tour Director and as part of a group of no more than 12 travelers, as you discover Central Norway – from Bergen to Trondheim – in the most worry-free way possible. New friendships will be formed and wonderful memories will be created.

Itinerary
Your tour of Norway officially starts with a kick-off dinner at the prestigious Opus XVI hotel, in the heart of Bergen. Connect with your Tour Director and fellow travelers while sampling the cuisine of the region. This relaxed meal is the beginning of your adventure, and the perfect antidote to a long flight.
From Bergen, sail the Sognefjord to arrive in Balestrand, a historic town that specializes in the art of cider-making. Visit the Cider House and its organic orchard, and learn the unique secrets that give the Norwegian ciders its distinctive flavors while you enjoy lunch and a cider sampling experience. Getting to know Balestrand also includes a visit to St. Olaf’s Church, dragon-style villas, and a little lecture on King Bele along the way. Your hotel tonight is the famous Hotel Kviknes, and trust us when we say its facilities and cuisine will surpass your expectations and allow you to admire mountains and a fjord from a balcony.
On Day 3 Embark on a breathtaking fjord cruise showcasing the stunning landscapes of Fjærlandsfjord and the awe-inspiring Bøyabreen glacier, complemented by a visit to the Norwegian Glacier Museum for an immersive exploration of glaciers and climate. Then, we drive through the heart of Norway, heading north, to arrive in Loen. There you’ll bear witness to the Briksdal Glacier, a dramatic beauty rising 1,200 meters and dropping directly into the Briksdalen Valley. This tour includes an easy hike through stunning scenery as well as a ride on a traditional “troll car.”
Time to pause and take in our surroundings. Additionally, on this action-packed day, you will have a chance to experience the Loen Skylift, a cable car that will allow you to soar over the Nordfjord, one of the most admired of the Norwegian fjords. Travel up 1,011 meters to see the fjord landscape from Mount Hoven, and toast to a truly incredible day. Then get ready for one more feast at the outstanding Hotel Alexandra.
On Day 5 we depart from Loen and make our way to Ålesund. One of the more striking features of Ålesund is its colorful Art Nouveau buildings, making it a highlight in your Norway tour. During your tour of Alesund tour you’ll learn more about the photogenic architectural style and how it came to shape this port town.
If you have heard of one fjord, it is the impressive Geirangerfjord. Well, Day 6 is your day to experience it! A full daytrip to Geiranger is full of gorgeous waterfalls (including the Seven Sisters Waterfall) and mesmerizing viewpoints, such as the Ornesvingen and the breathtaking Dalsnibba. You will not believe your eyes! After all that sightseeing we will return to Alesund for another wonderful meal and a great night at the historic Hotel Brosundet.
Always moving north, we leave Alesund to savor more of the beauty of the Norwegian coast. Our new destination is the gorgeous fjord town of Molde. To get there we will cross the world-famous Atlantic Road, another highlight in our program. In Molde we will encounter impressive architecture immersed in a sweet blend of Norwegian culture and a relaxed, maritime atmosphere. After another fantastic meal (especially for seafood lovers!) we will spend the night at the picturesque Molde Fjordhotell.
We dedicate the last segment of our journey to the discovery of Norway’s first capital (for 200 years): Trondheim. There you will see that food, culture and cycling are taken very seriously. The city presents the eye with a feast of beauty, a fantastic blend of gothic architecture and colorful wooden buildings by the water. In Trondheim, affectionately known as Norway’s capital of knowledge, you will also detect much of the innovation that propels Norway into the future. And in the spirit of reserving the best for last, you will be staying for 2 nights at the magnificent and newly renovated Hotel Britannia, possibly the most luxurious hotel in the country.
On the way to Trondheim, from Molde, we will also visit Kristiansund, a lovely town perfectly placed on the coastline.
Breakfast at the Britannia concludes our Norwegian adventure, full of memories, pictures and new friends.
