Itinerary

After landing at Keflavík Airport, you will travel to your hotel in Reykjavík. Located in the heart of Iceland’s capital city, Hotel Apotek offers the best in both style and comfort. Following check-in, connect with your Tour Director before a visit to the Sky Lagoon. Relax in the warm waters of the geothermal lagoon and soak off your jet lag as you gaze upon incredible North Atlantic views. End your day with a gourmet kickoff dinner where you will get to know your fellow travelers and taste delicious Icelandic dishes. Your group tour of Iceland has officially started!

After breakfast, the following day, join a driving tour of Iceland’s capital. Notable sights include the famous Hallgrímskirkja Church, the modern Harpa Concert Hall, and the unique Sun Voyager sculpture. Following your tour, you will have free time to experience some of the world-class museums and attractions in the city on your own. Two such attractions are the Viking Saga and the Aurora Borealis museums.

Day 3 is dedicated to Iceland’s Golden Circle, which is composed of three must-see sights: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area, and Thingvellir National Park. Nearby, at Fridheimar, you will enjoy a beautiful show with Icelandic horses and some organic, tomato-based delicacies. Our day ends with a fantastic dinner at the prestigious Hotel Grimsborgir, right in the heart of the Golden Circle, our home base for the next couple of nights.

After a delicious breakfast in the gorgeous settings of your hotel, you will visit the newly renovated Selfoss Center, a collection of 35 historic buildings reimagined in cutting-edge architecture to form a modern collection of shops, restaurants, and cafes. From there, we take you on yet another highly unique experience: you will board a state-of-the-art, luxurious “monster truck” and make your way to a glacier, where you will have the unique pleasure of riding onboard your special vehicle. The experience combines the thrill of a fantastic machine with the peaceful power of one of nature’s majestic creations.

The following day you will visit a true gem in Iceland, a fantastic location overlooked by many tourists: the Westman Islands. There you will learn all about the 1973 volcanic eruption that engulfed most of the archipelago. You will also witness Iceland’s beloved puffins and beluga whales in their habitat. You and your fellow travelers will dine and spend the night at the cozy Hotel Vestmannaeyar in the heart of its namesake islands.

After a restful night and a delicious breakfast you will embark on a very exclusive tour of some of Iceland’s most beautiful areas: the south coast. There you will find gorgeous waterfalls, such as Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss, black-sand beaches (Reynisfjara), amazing geological formations (Dyrholaey) and many other spectacles of nature. You will also visit Vik, a small fishing village in the very south of the country. The next day is reserved for us to explore Thorsmork, the valley of Thor, the “Thunder God,” where we will witness magnificent views of glaciers, volcanoes and a truly majestic mountain range. We will explore the region on a modified 4 x 4 “Super Jeep,” the perfect vehicle to allow us to fully navigate the rugged terrain. After two nights in the south of Iceland we conclude our adventure with a safe and comfortable return to KEF International Airport, but only after checking out the mystical Caves of Hella and getting a glimpse at the Keflavik peninsula.

After two nights in the southeast of Iceland, we conclude our adventure with a safe and comfortable return to KEF International Airport, but only after checking out the mystical Caves of Hella and getting a glimpse at the Keflavik Peninsula.
